Apple to Open 'AC Wellness' Medical Clinics for Employees

Amazon isn't the merely US tech giant aiming to upend wellness care. Apple is at present planning to launch its own independent medical clinics called AC Wellness, which will be "dedicated to delivering compassionate, effective healthcare" to its employees.

The iPhone maker is planning to open AC Health this spring in Santa Clara Canton, Calif., where it'due south headquartered, according to a new website for the initiative.

"Air-conditioning Wellness Network believes that having trusting, accessible relationships with our patients, enabled by technology, promotes high-quality intendance and a unique patient feel," Apple tree wrote on its AC Wellness website. "The centers offer a unique concierge-like healthcare experience for employees and their dependents."

Every bit it prepares to launch the new centers, Apple has a number of positions to make full. The company is seeking master and acute care physicians, a nurse practitioner, nurse coordinator, clinical exercise coach, and medical professionals for several other roles.

CNBC reports that Apple will initially launch two AC Health clinics to serve its Santa Clara County employees. One of them will be located at the company'southward futuristic-looking new campus, known as Apple Park, the job listings note. That should be convenient for any employees who hurt themselves past accidentally walking into the glass walls in that location.

News of Apple tree's new health care effort comes after Amazon late last calendar month teamed with Warren Buffett's holding visitor Berkshire Hathaway and financial services giant JPMorgan Hunt to class a new, non-for-profit organization aimed at serving the health care needs of their US-based employees. The arrangement will focus on creating "technology solutions that will provide Us employees and their families with simplified, loftier-quality, and transparent health intendance at a reasonable cost."
